Frequently Asked Questions

What is Direct Primary Care?

Our goal at HealthyHER Center for Women's Care is to focus solely on our patients. For this reason, we have chosen to adopt the direct primary care model. Direct primary care (DPC) is a monthly membership that allows you and your healthcare provider to be in control of your health care. It is a new approach to basic health services where, for a low monthly fee, patients have access to faster appointment availability, longer visit times and increased provider access through telephone, email, and/or text.

DPC takes the complexity of insurance hassles out of the equation! The goal of is to reduce health costs and place patient care back into the hands of the patient and provider. It is the solution to many of healthcare's current problems.

Do I have to be a member?

No. You can pay cash as you go ("fee-for-service"), however you will not have access to the exclusive member benefits afforded to members. However, you will be able to bill your own insurance with the codes provided to you and recoup a majority of your out of pocket costs.

What is NOT included with the monthly membership?

One of the many benefits of having a HealthyHER membership is having full access to your provider who can help you identify if an uncovered service is needed. Generally, labs, imaging studies, hospitalizations, ER/Urgent Care visits are not covered through membership fees. However, if you have insurance, it should cover these fees.

Do I still need insurance at HealthyHER?

You don’t need health insurance for the services you receive from HealthyHER. However, Because HealthyHER is not insurance, we do encourage our members to purchase health insurance if available. Your subscription fee does not replace a health insurance plan. It may; however,  influence the type of insurance plan you choose.

Many insurance plans have high deductibles and only pay for preventive services before you meet your deductible. With a HealthyHER membership, all offered services are covered. You don’t need to meet a deductible to have visits with your care provider for GYN concerns, weight management, or other acute issues. Since we focus on keeping you well and identifying issues well in advance, we can help to reduce the costs of unexpected illness.

We  recommend that you consider a higher deductible plan to make sure you are covered for emergencies, hospitalizations, expensive imaging studies and labs. Often times the savings from switching to a higher deductible plan is more than the cost of your yearly subscription fee.

How will I pay for things that aren’t covered by the monthly fee like specialist visits, high cost procedures, imaging studies and hospitalizations?

You will use your insurance. It should continue to cover anything it has contracted to pay.

I have Medicare. Can you still be my provider?

Of course. We will just need to sign a one-time waiver declaring that neither you nor I will submit a bill to Medicare for services provided at HealthyHER Center for Women's Care. Medicare should still pay for any medically necessary tests, labs, or hospitalizations, just as they always have.

Is this membership tax-deductible?

Possibly, but It is best to check with your accountant.

Can a Health Savings Account be used to pay
for the membership fee?

More than likely; however, you should check with your individual HSA guidelines first.

What type of payment do you accept?

You can pay with either cash or debit/credit card. Pricing is transparent and listed on our website under Pricing.
